Question for any of you ATs out there…a lot in the collegiate training room you see the application of ice with the use of low level stim. My question is…why? I may be missing the boat here but, if the stim is going to cause dilation to allow for the increase of blood flow through the muscle, then why add ice, which would cause constriction, thus reducing blood flow. Not sure if i am having a brain fart here, but i’m not getting this one. Someone help me out here.
