ok my 40m time handtimed was clocked at 5.52ht only did it once didnt bother to try again and see if it was faster. Second was 60m again previous pB 7.50ht but i got 7.52ht this time. Im thinking that 1.98-2.0x secodns between the 20m would suggest acceleration or getting to top speed? I havent dont 100m test yet but previous ht PB is 12.28ht 2 years ago when i ran 12.17FAT it would been around 11.8 i guess. I have stopped lifting weights and am losing weight havent lost that much power. I am afraid however stopping all of a sudden then going back to it can lead to further injuries. Suggestions welcome
Running a 100m takes time to work up to. I am not sure if you are planning on running a full 100m without training for it, but I wouldn’t recommend it. As far as starting lifting weights again…just make sure to start light and low, and slowly increase as your body lets you. If you start out with lots of volume and heavy weights your body will not like you. It takes about 2 weeks to adapt to any change in stimulus. In that time there is a lot of soreness and tightness that can occur. Use contrast showers, and get some massage if you can manage it.
You said that it might lead to “further” injuries. What injuries are you talking about?
i have adductor strain grade 1 i think. But it aggravates teh tendon which is still healing. I have not lost any power though after awhile of sprinting the pain subsides unless i rest for awhile then it starts alittle bit, so long as im active adn moving i dont feel the pain. Knees are also sore and is not healing that much then again i dont feel it when i sprint, just when walking around or sitting down. Before i had a hip strain grade 2 hurt badly took 4 months to heal. Body is always gonna come with new injuries just dont know which one is next.
