cues for short strider ?

I am very strong, very powerful, and reasonably mobile\flexible athlete, however I only run 11.5 for the 100 at the moment, everytime I feel like i am NOT GOING FORWARD, then it annoys me and i tense up and take short quick steps instead…

A change in mindset is a must here, what i am doing isnt working, same feel every race… in training its much better most of the times.

I figured next race and in training i will just think about this:

" stretch backside and thrust it forwards, repeat "

" stretch backside and thrust it forwards, repeat "

" stretch backside and thrust it forwards, repeat "

When i’m thinking about stretching the back leg, and then thrusting if forward over the knee in practice i look great… even my tempo runs look faster than my races that way, but theres alot of thinking involved… thats why i am confused.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Thank you

when is ur next race

2 weeks … had one yesterday… another 11.61… im pretty much stable on around 11.5…

footage from yesterday’s 11.61 soon… so you can all see what im talking about…

“step over and drive down” is what i tell my frequency folks. if that doesn’t work go with my favorite cue … “F@#$ it, just run”.

along with some of the lower body cues is to make sure that one gets a proper and complete arm action-through the full range of motion.
