Sprint kings go head-to-head
Chambers and Lewis-Francis will represent GB in Glasgow
Dwain Chambers and Mark Lewis-Francis are aiming to go head-to-head in Glasgow later this month.
The duo last met in August 2002, at the Norwich Union Grand Prix at Crystal Palace.
This time, the sprinters are hoping to be part of the Great Britain team that takes on the USA and Russia in the Norwich Union International match at Scotstoun on 29 June.
With two 100m spots available the pair will face competition for places from Darren Campbell, Jason Gardener and Christian Malcolm.
But only injury is likely to prevent the two fastest men in the country, Lewis-Francis and Chambers, from what should be a thrilling contest.
“I’m really looking forward to competing in Glasgow in front of a British crowd,” said Chambers.
“It’s an exciting field and I’m hoping to put a good race together at this point in the season.”
Chambers has had the upper hand in races against Lewis-Francis, although both pulled up injured in last summer’s much-hyped Commonwealth Games final in Manchester.
They will meet before Glasgow in Ostrava on 12 June and later at the Norwich Union Super League in Gateshead on 13 July
