Carson: Spearmon 20.06, Wariner 20.19

LOS ANGELES, May 21, 2006 - Bahrain’s Rashid Ramzi recorded the fastest time ever on American soil by beating two-time Olympic medallist Bernard Lagat in the 1,500 metres at the Carson Track Classic meet here on Sunday.
Reigning world champion Ramzi passed Lagat on the final lap to win with a time of three minutes, 32.34 seconds, to surpass Great Britain Sebastian Coe’s 3:32.54 gold-medal performance at the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics.
Lagat, who recently became a US citizen, finished second in 3:32.94.
Wallace Spearmon, who won the silver at last year’s 2005 Worlds, clocked a 20.06 seconds to win the 200 metres. Spearmon had to hold off Olympic 400 metre champ Jeremy Wariner and Jamaica’s Omar Brown who finished second and third.
Marcus Brunson won the men’s 100 metes in 10.01 while Veronica Campbell of Jamaica captured the women’s sprint race in 10.99.
World 400m silver medalist Sanya Richards held off a strong field that included 2004 US Indoor champion Crystal Cox and LaShauntea Moore to win the women’s 200m.
American Andrew Rock won the men’s 400 metres in the fifth-fastest time in the world this year of 44.83 seconds.

If jeremy wariner can run a 20.19 on his 1st 200m in 3 years, He’ll almost garunteed go sub 20 this year.

Actually it is not his first 200m in 3 years, he has already run a few so far this season alone for sure.

Sub 20 or not - I wonder how dropping his 200m time to 20.19 will affect his 400m performace considering he ran 44.00 when having a SB of 20.59 and a PB of 20.41.
