CaptinPains Results

Thanks Jeremy.

WOO HOO!! I’m ranked 13th in the 100m and I ran that time into a -2.5 headwind.
I just may make the OFSAA final after all!

Good luck in the 100 Jordan since I probably won’t see you till Saturday. Don’t push it too hard like I did. If you run your race your in a good position to make the finals. This could be your last chance to make it cause you’ll be running against me next year

by the way you guys should have the wind with you during the 100 meter heats…on thursday…

Good luck TJ2K, going into the triple ranked 2nd I see. That’s pretty impressive.

Yes, I drew lane 3 (my favorite lane) in probably the easiest heat of them. I’ll probably have to run a 23.5 to qualify so it will take my race of the season to make it but my goal is to come 4th or 5th in my heat. A 23.8 should get me there. I’m running outside the guy who won East Regionals so I’ll try and keep up with him on the stretch. There’s another guy capable of running 23 flat in the heat and 2 others that seem to run 23.5s around.

Looks like OFSAA results are getting put up pretty quickly after the events. Swifty if you’re looking at this have you seen this Dushane Farrier guy run? He seems capable of running 11 flat. Nobody from my region seems to have qualified for the 100 and congrats to Jordan, 14th in the 100 is solid, especially since you’re only a grade 11.

I think I have. He might be the guy who ran 11.2 into MAJOR headwind.

Well I’m back and it was kind of a disapointing weekend. My goal was to come 15th and I tied for 16th but was lucky to get there. I felt heavy through my whole race. I was 4th of the bend but then I just tanked on the straightaway. I ran a 24.20 into a very slight wind while other heats had more wind. I’ve never really felt like giving up on any other 200 meter but I barely finished this one and had trouble getting up after. It must have been the heat.

TJ2K I saw that 7.16 that was pretty impressive. Congrats on coming 2nd.

Now that the season’s over I’m ready to train a lot. My goal for next year is to make the OFSAA final even though I’ll be the younger age. Might as well post my early season goals.

100 meter: 10.9
200 meter: 22.9

They may seem lofty but I’m ready to buckle down and train as hard as I possibly can. I’ll update on my training every so often in this thread to let you guys know how I’m coming along.

edit: make that 10.9, I want to break 11

Just read your posts from earlier, thanks for the congrats on my 100m. I really wanted to make that final but I guess it wasn’t in the cards… Although the guy who came 8th in the final ran 11.17 so I was good enuff to be in it. My 200m was also disappointing I ran a 23.51, which is terrible considering I can run 11.1x in the 100m. I also ran a good curve but when it came to the final 100 meters I tied up and was very VERY tired. I’m sure the heat had something to do with it.(That AND the stiff headwind)

Looks like I’ll be running in a Legion meet this Saturday. I have no idea what the competition will be like so I’ll just go there and run my best race. I have a feeling it’ll rain cause it looks like it’ll rain all week.

btw Jordan don’t forget to send me that video of EOFSAA

Today was a pretty nice day, colder then usual and barely any wind.

The 100 prelims was a pretty bad race for me. I tightened up halfway through but the guys behind me were all far back enough, I came 2nd in my heat behind Jordan.

The 100 finals was a little better, I ran more relaxed then I think I ever have. I came a distant 2nd but that’s enough to qualify for the next competition in St. Catherines.

In the 200 I didn’t feel like I ran a great race but I ran a 23.84 and that’s a PB for me. Congrats to Jordan on his PB and slight 2nd place finish.

I think something’s wrong with my 100, I usually run my 200 meter at 90% and then start to fade with 30 meters left. I’m going to try and figure it out because my 200 shouldn’t be so low and my 100 so high.

Good job Jeremy. Thanks for the congrats although i’m DISGUSTED with my 100m time lol whatever tho… on to St.Catherines

That makes 2 of us, I think we can hit 11.6/11.1 in St. Catherines, I can’t believe that I can’t drop my time from the first competition of the year.

Tonight I ran a Twilight meet for the first time and I’m gona think about whether I’ll go to the Canada Games Trials on Saturday where I will get owned. I set 2 new PBs and I’m very happy especially since I played 18 holes of golf just before coming.

In the 100 I felt really strong in the first half and I was ahead of one of the guys that ended up burning me at the end. I blew up in the last half and ended up running an 11.63 which I’m happy about but working on my sprint endurance I can do a lot better.

In the 200 I was kinda scared going into it cause I’d be running against 2 of the top women runners in Canada and didn’t want to lose to a girl :o . I took the turn slower then usual but at the end I burned it with everything I had left and ended up passing the 2 girls and winning with a time of 23.71

I’m feeling good about those times and I think before this outdoor season is done I can hit 11.4 in the 100 and 23.5 in the 200.

Tonight was another twilight meet, conditions were nice and warm with a headwind in the 100.

My first race I ran a relay with a bunch of guys from another school that go the same club. Our handoffs were kinda messed, well at least the ones involving me but we managed a close 2nd place finish.

In my second race was a 100 meter one. I felt really good during the race and was first halfway through. My sprint endurance was much better today but it was difference between me neing first and finishing 3rd, which was where I ended up. It was a close race and I lost to some good competition.

I don’t have times for either of these yet but I believe the relay time was around 47.5 and the 100 time was a low-mid 11.6

Well my times are in and I’m pretty surprised. Not about the relay because that was just what people told me they thought the time was but I was surprised about my 100 time. I really thought that I was a foot or so behind the winner, even my dad was surprised when he heard what my time was. I ran an 11.79 and fuck I’m pissed, I know I ran a good race but this means I basically haven’t improved since the school year.

My confidence has been broken for now, I thought I was capable of 11.6s but I guess I’m wrong, looks like so far my training has been a waste.

edit:

Alright forget that shit I just wrote, it’s time to get back into my mindset. I’m just gona have to train harder to get better then. I’ll hit 11.4 before the year is out.

Jeez, when does your season end up there in Canada? For us, the season ends in early June, and if that’s if you qualify for the big meets (state meet, outdoor nationals, although the junior usatf is a bit later).

Also, dont give it up. Just stick with your training and dont get too frustrated about the time. Instead, think about where you went wrong in the race (poor acceleration, couldnt transition well from acceleration to MaxV, bad speed endurance, etc.) and focus on that and how to get better at it. Once you get that stuff in place then the times will come and take care of themselves. Good luck.

ur starting to burn out man…seriously take two full weeks off of doing nothing and start into your gpp for next year

it happens to the best of us man i did what ur doing right now at nationals last weekend…

MISTER C:

its club track now…our high school season ends the same as urs.

I’m gona keep going for a week or week and a half or so then I have a week vacation so I’ll just relax while I’m off and come back to track fresh.
