Performance Director to Leave

Athletics New Zealand is disappointed to inform the Sport that its Performance Director, Eric Hollingsworth, is leaving the role at the end of this month. Eric’s departure is due primarily to the needs of his family back in Melbourne.

“While Eric is an enormous loss to the Performance Programme and the Sport in general, elite athletics in New Zealand will obviously continue. The professional and objective approach that he has brought to the Performance Programme must be his legacy and will be continued” says Jeremy F Kennerley, Chief Executive.

In his brief time with the Association, Eric has made a significant contribution to a cultural change surrounding every aspect of the High Performance, from selection through to individual athlete performance. He promised and delivered a truly objective and consistent programme that will enable New Zealand to get the best out of its talent pool.

The Management Team and the Board of Athletics New Zealand wish Eric Hollingsworth all the best in his new endeavours and thank him for his enormous contribution to the Sport of Athletics in New Zealand.
