Arron set to miss indoor season

French sprinter Christine Arron has confirmed that she is still struggling with the right leg injury that has kept her out of action since May, and that she may have to cancel her plans to compete on the indoor scene this winter.

The 33-year-old has been in her native Guadeloupe trying to recover from the injury, but she concedes things have not quiet gone as she had planned.

“I think I shall not make the indoor season because the healing is proving more difficult that I thought,” she said.

“I’m still hurting, the process of rehabilitation will continue and I hope to back training properly in Guadeloupe soon, but I shall take my time with my treatment because the summer season is very important to me.”

Arron’s main aim for the season will be to be in full fitness for the World Championships which begin in Osaka, Japan at the end of August.

At the last world championships in Helsinki last year, Arron won bronze medals in both the 100m and 200m.
