From my knowledge of Mr Egger training, and also what my poor french kinowledge confirmed, he used extensively late Gilles Cometti terminology and methodology of training, regarding strength and power training. Also interesting that in video n.1, extensive period, he does parallel squats…in n.3, explosive phase, competitive, he does full squats with a heck of a weight!!
Wow thank you!
i’ve been study in france for about 5 months and the video i’ve seen here are exactly what they teach me.
they always stress the importance of using the various kind of contraction in the same set or in different sets.
an example of set coul be:
a1)squat 4xamrap@5RM, (no or little rest)
a2)stato-dinamic leg press 4x10 (little or no rest)
a3)step fall 4x6 (w/o bounce, only suddendly breaking)
a4)rope jumping 30"
4-5 min " rest "
i’ve used the double quotes because usually the rest was used to do some abs, hypers, stretch, but never soft, it was always an hard work
about the vid, i don’t understand a lot of things…how could you always go 4 max, each session? how could you do maximal squats near a competition (it wasn’t an “activation” wo…)?
Care to share who that may be?
I’d prefer not to sorry, he is a member and posts infrequently which is a pity as he is scary intelligent. Those latest vids of Gunthor are very similar to the sort of stuff he does.
The sessions by Gunthoer are way more interesting…many throwers handle maximum weights in competition periods…also, I have to check my notes, but lifts were performed 2-3 days a week.
